The Barongs heavy leaf shaped blades are known to have superior cutting abilities. This one is a good old Moro Barong, with a 16 ½ inches blade. The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a very classical form, bound to the blade tang with silver collar. The scabbard is wood entirely bound with Rattan strips. The upper part of the scabbard is elaborately carved. Total length (In scabbard) 26 inches. Very good condition. Good blade. Small part of the scabbard mouth is restored and the pommel has minor chips. An old and interesting repair of a crack in the handle wood, using small wood pegs inserted into the crack to stop its expanding. A very impressive piece
