Very Rare Sword of the Salampasu - 5753

A very good, old and complete sword of the Salampasu people residing in the southern Zaire. A very nice photo of a Salampaso warrior carrying a similar sword can be seen on the front cover of: Beaute Fatale the catalog of an exhibition of African weapons in Brussels, Belgium, 1992. The blade is 17 inches, the grip is carved wood and the scabbard is leather set with braided fiber at the mouth and at the tip and along the central rib of the scabbard. This is an early 20th Century authentic sword in a very good condition. Only one side of the scabbard is partially open. A very rare sword at a very low price. A prized addition to your collection of African weapons. .
