Superb Wootz Pesh-Kabz Dagger from India - 6633
This superb dagger is a Pesh-Kabz , a member of the family of the Karud and a Khybar Knife, but with a re-curving blade. The whole family of such daggers is common to India, Persia and several Central Asian countries. The blade is of forged from persian wootz, of top quality, with clear and nice high contrast pattern, 7 ½ inches long, heavy, with a pronounced T spine, reinforced edge and thickened armor piercing tip. The grips are of elephant ivory, the grip strap and bolsters are steel. Very good blade shape and very good age patina to the grips. There is a thin forging flaw on the back spine. |
