An Abdi style Jambiya dagger from South Yemen, also known as "Bedouin style" or "Gusbi". Characterized by the upswept tip of the scabbard, sometimes higher than the dagger pommel. 7 inches curved blade with a pronounced central rib. I shaped horn grip with silver decorative mounts. Leather covered scabbard mounted with highly decorated silver locket, silver plate and silver chape, Total length 13 inches. Very good condition. Minor pitted spots at the tip of the blade. Very impressive Jambiya.
