Utility Knife of the Bagobo, Philippines - 14765
This utility knife of the Bagobo tribe, Mindanao, Philippines usually referred to as women’s knife. The blade is up-curving 6 1/2 inches long, single edge at the convex side. The hilt is grained wood. The angle of the blade to the hilt allow to hold the knife only with the edge upside or in the direction of the holder. Wood scabbard bound with braided rattans covered with black lacquer, decorated with white glass bids, small brass bells and a tuft of colored hair. Total length 13 inches. Very good condition. Good authentic piece.
