Fine and Rare Turkish Bichaq with Curved Blade - 14764


This rare dagger is Turkish, early 19C. . It is a very fine mix between the double edged curved Jambiya (or Khanjar) and the Bichaq knife. The fine blade is 9 inches long, constructed from a twisted steel core forge welded between high carbon steel edges. Similar construction is known from Yataghan swords from the period. Silver on pewter base handle with classical eared pommel. Silver scabbard. Total length 15 inches. Next to mint condition. Scarce and interesting item.
