A Fine Kilij / Pala sword with Wootz blade - 14712


This fine Kilij sword (Also known as Pala in some places) is of outstanding blade quality: Persian made for the Turkish market, early to mid 19 C., forged from Wootz steel of dark color and high contrast pattern. Chiseled maker mark and etched inscription in Arabic letters (later), decorated with gold koftgari work. Rhino horn grips with silver cross guard and grip strap. Blade 29 inches long 2 inches wide. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition. Losses to the gold work.
