This beautiful shield is probably from the persian Qajar period, Mid 19 C in a very nice condition. 18 inches in diameter, 3 ½ inches high. Its whole center of its front face are inlaid with silver in the koftgary inlaying technique, in floral design The outer perimeter ring is etched in typical period hunting scenes. The rear face retained the original red fabric but the handles and hand are missing. Very good condition. 95% of the silver work is intact.
