This MANDAU (sometimes also called “Parang Ihlang”) is a late 19C with a well forged 19 inches blade set with brass and white metal inserts. The handle is “L” shaped, nicely carved from bone and bound with braided rattan strips. Wood scabbard beautifully carved and bound with rattan strips in a decorative pattern. This Mandau comes with the side knife (Piso Raout) , in a rear compartment made of wood bark. Very good condition. Very minor losses to the scabbard rattan binding. An original authentic piece for real use.
