This knife comes from East India, probably from the state of Orissa. It is quite rare and characterized by the short slender blade and big conical ivory handle. This exemplar has a blade of 7 inches long, quite narrow, ¾ inches wide. Ivory grips with silvered covered pommel and silver decorated bolster. Wood scabbard covered with silver sheet. Good condition. Good age patina on the ivory with minor damage near the bolster.
