rare ceremonial sword from Dahomei (Benin). late 19 - early 20C. 23 inches long blade with an animal image cut in the tip of the blade, with brass eyes. Blade engraved with snake. Wood handle with animal head pommel and coiled steel cross guard. Total length 28 inches. Very good condition. Heavily patinated blade.
