Very Good Assib Jambiya Dagger with Rhino Horn Hilt, Hadhramout, Yemen - 14555 - New

This is a very good example of Jambiya dagger from Hadhramout, an arid area in South of Yemen. Early 20th C. Finely forged blade with central rib, 7 ½ inches long. Massive rhino horn handle (slightly damaged pommel side), set with silver collar on the front side. The grip is set with two (1935 in the Gregorian calendar). Heavy silver scabbard with an uprising “Thum” style finial engraved with Arabic letters and dated 1349 ( 1930 in the Gregorian Calendar). Total length 13 inches. Very good condition.
