A rare and beautiful 19c Indian shield from north India. The shield is made entirely from pattern welded (Damascus) steel. Four bosses and the rim inlaid with floral design of gold Koftagary technique. Original inner red fabric cushion (faded) and rings for hands straps (Straps missing). 16 inches diameter. A fine item.
