This fine Jambiya dagger is Yemenite, probably from the Tihama region in the west of Yemen, but similar styles can be found up to Mecca in the north and Hadramouth in the south. Early 20 C. Very good blade 8 inches long, curved and double edged, with a pronounced central rib. Whole heavy silver handle with a pommel shaped in a styled mosque pattern and tradition is that this pattern is after the big mosque of Mecca. Whole silver scabbard.
