Good Jambiya Dagger from Hijaz, Arabia - 14307


This type of long Jambiya dagger is common in the Western regions of Arabia, Hijaz and Asir. Sometimes it is referred to by collectors as Wahabite style. The blade is 14 inches long and plain. The handle is made of bovine horn grip richly decorated with filigree silver (Low grade) or white metal mounts. The scabbard is wood covered with leather and mounted with big silver (Low) locket and chape, also richly decorated with filigree work. This dagger comes with part of its original carrying belt. Total length 18 1/2 inches. Very good condition.
