This heavy knife is a tribal somewhat crude version of a KARD knife. Its origin is not precisely known but most probably some tribal Persian / Turkestan artifact. 13 inches long, heavy, single edge blade with a cylindrical grip made of layered discs of brass, black horn and walrus ivory, decorated with brass rondels. Walrus ivory pommel; and brass bolsters. Total length 17 ½ inches. Good condition. Some damaged spots in the grip and few brass rondels are missing. Very unusual piece, and still of somewhat mysterious origin.
