In 1889 A standards sword was issued to the Afghani military forces. The swords are characterized by a massive bifullered blade 26 inches long with a 10 inches raised back edge. Blade is marked. Steel handle with bone grips and pierced steel guard. Brass mounted scabbard with brown leather cover. Very good condition.. Very impressive sword.
