This dagger is coming from our private collection. Choora daggers are supposedly coming from Afghanistan. They are quite common and all of similar shape. The one offered for sale here is quite exceptional with an wootz (Watered, Damascus ) steel. Probably late 19C. or a bit later. Finely forged blade with a strong T spine, 9 inches long. Four sectors ivory grips with silver bolsters and grip strap and with a 19C silver coin attached to the pommel. Original leather covered scabbard with silver mounts. Total length 13 1/2 inches. very good condition.
