This Ram-Dao is a sacrificial sword from Nepal. It is meant to behead the sacrificed animal in one sword blow, and this is exactly how the blade is designed: Heavy 14 1/2 inches long, down curving blade engraved along the spine and also with the "eye" mark near the tip. Massive two handed handle with wood grips. Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade and the handle. Good, late 19C. exemplar.
