Fine Sword of the Luba, Complete with Scabbard - 14150


The Luba tribe from the south Congo of today was a precolonial kingdom, prosperous in arts trades with the Europeans. Luba works of decorative arts are much sought after by collectors. This sword is a classical example. Early 20c. Very well forged and nicely fullered blade 16 inches long and 4 inches wide. Deadly sharp. Wood handle. Rare wood scabbard died and engraved, bound with braided rattan. Original leather carrying belt. Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. A rare and complete sword.
