Very nice Execution Keris from Sumatra - 14199

A Keris Penjang , also sometimes referred to as Execution Keris from Sumatra. This type of Keris was supposedly used to execute criminals. The long narrow blade was inserted above the collarbone of the sitting executed person and pushed down directly into the heart, causing instant death. The blade of this specific Keris is 16 inches long. The hilt is classical made of wood. silver decorative mendak. Wood scabbard with engraved silver mounts. Total length 22 inches. Good condition. Very good exemplar.
