Very Good Sword of the Luba, Complete with Scabbard - 14149

The Luba tribe from the south Congo of today was a precolonial kingdom, prosperous in arts trades with the Europeans. Luba works of decorative arts are much sought after by collectors. This sword is a classical example. Early 20c. Very well forged blade 14 1/2 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide. Wood handle. Rare wood scabbard bounded with braided rattan abd copper wire (later). Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. Some crude engraving on the scabbard could be the initials of the owner name. A rare and complete sword.
