Very Good Syrian (Magdali) Jambiya Dagger - 14140


A very good exemplar of a Syrian Jambiya dagger, early 20C. made in the Druze village of Magdal Shams (Tower of the sun) in the Golan Heights, the area of dispute between Israel and Syria. Curved short blade, 5 1/2 inches long finely fullered and with crude inscription in Arabic.. The handle made from layers and mosaics pieces of horn, bone, mother of pearl and brass in intricate geometrical design. Chased brass scabbard. Total length 10 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the scabbard.
