The Genoui, is a rare variant of the classical Moroccan ‘Koumaya’ curved dagger with straight blade. The name literally means from Genoa, probably to indicate its ancient source. This one is a very long exemplar with a straight 21 inches fullered blade is cut from an old sword and fitted with a massive Rhino horn handle. The scabbard is wood covered with leather and mounted with brass mounts. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. Very lightly pitted spots on the blade. Good age patina on the horn handle but the pommel brass mount is lost .Minor bugs bites on the horn.
