This very good Takouba the sword of the Tuareg people is a 19 C. sword, with a double edge 29 ½ inches blade marked with styled faced moon marks on both sides of the blade. The hilt is of the classical Takouba design made of brass with covered leather cross guard. The scabbard is finely tooled leather. Total length 35 1/2 inches. Very good condition. One hanging strap missing. Early 20C.
