We offer for sale this superb regimental Kothimora Khukuri dagger,. late 19th C. of very good quality. It has a heavy down curving blade of 12 inches long and beautifully forged. The hilt is bone with brass bolster. The scabbard is wood covered with black leather, mounted with beautifully chased silver locket with gold panel on red fabric background and embossed silver chape. The compartment for the two by-knives is whole leather and it is intact but only the Karda (steel) is there. The other knife is missing. Total length 17 ½ inches. Very good condition. A crack in the bone grip (but it is still very solid) and the pommel bone plate is fixed with two later metal screws. Scabbard seams partially open.
