The KHUKURI is the traditional weapon of the Gurkha people from NEPAL. It is an every day tool used for hunting, agriculture, defense and fighting, and every man in Nepal is proud to carry one for use and as a symbol of status. It has a heavy down curving blade of 11inches long, well forged. The hilt is dark wood. The scabbard is wood elaborately carved on its front face. The compartment for the two by-knives is an integral part of the scabbard, and both are included. The scabbard and the grip are both marked on their side TCBG 1933. Total length 15 inches. Good condition. Few old sharpening signs on the edge and a small chip on the pommel wood. |
