The Pedang Lurus is an Indonesian short sword, common in Java but can be found also in other Indonesian islands. This one is of somewhat unusual. Whole brass construction. Heavy and massive pamor blade with gold (?) inserts depiction the naga (Snake) head. 19 inches long straight with a slightly down curving double edge tip. The hilt and scabbard are whole chased brass. Total length 25 inches. Very good condition. Very good although a bit late item, dated probably to the second half of the 20 C. Impressive sword.
