Very Fine Yemenite Assib Jambiya Dagger Dated 1353 (1934) - 14026

This very fine Yemenite Jambiya Dagger is coming proably from Hadramouth. Somtimes referred to as Mecca style characterized by the silver scabbard and uprising scabbard tip. It is not necessarily from Mecca and can be found in many regions around. The blade is of good quality, 7 inches long. The grip is silver finely engraved and set with filigree panels. The scabbard is a piece of arts on its own in heavy pierced engraved and filigree silver. An inscription in Arabic letters is punched at the top of the scabbard and dated to 1353 in the Islamic calendar (1934 i the Gregorian calendar). Very Good plus condition. An outstanding piece for the serious collector of Arabic weapons.
