The Sikin is one of the many variations of the Klewang, the Indonesian machete like sword. This Fine one is Acheen from Sumatra, mid 19th C. The blade is straight and single edge, 22 ½ inches long with a 14 inches long fuller just below the spine. Steel bolster of unusual shape. The hilt is carved of horn in a typical forked pommel with beautiful carving of human figure. Wood scabbard bound with braided rattan bands and silver locket. Total length 29 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Chipped pommel.
