| Very Rare and Fine Kiem Vietnamese Straight Sword - 14006 
 
  
 This straight, double edge sword is Vietnamese, late 19 - early 20 C. , also known as Kiem. Its narrow long well forged fullered blade is 25 inches long. The handle is composed of a grip made from the fossil molar teeth of a Mastodon (?) with very finely chased silver pommel and cross guard. Lacquered wood scabbard set with decoration of mother of pearl mosaic and  beautifully chased silver mounts.  Total length 37  inches. Very good  condition.  Old age crack on the grip but it holds very solid.  A very impressive sword.    |
