This style of short Yataghan sword is sometimes known as Marine Yataghan, probably because of its length. In contrary to more common Yataghans the blade here is short, straight with a pronounce T spine. The grips are elephant ivory with very long and narrow ears. The bolsters and grip strap are silver with set with corals and small turquoise stones. Original fabric covered scabbard with chased silver locket and chape. Blade 15 inches. Total length 23 ½ inches. Very good condition. The short bolster may indicate an early repair.
