19C. Short Sword from India / Nepal with Re-Curving Blade - 6424

We offer for sale this unusual sword with a heavy re-curving blade, 16 inches long with 4 ½ inches false edge. The blade is forge welded from two steel sectors near the blade heel (clearly noticed as a diagonal line in the photos). The handle is wood with steel discs pommel and guard, in a style similar to the hilt of the Nepalese sword Kora. This also may be an indication to the sword origin from North India or Nepal. Good condition. Minor blackened areas and superficial pitted spots. |
