Pedang I Sword, Indonesia - 13958
This form of sword from Sumatra, Indonesia is known as Pedang I. It has a clear influence from the Indian subcontinent and usually employs a foreign blade, as most probably the case here: A saber blade 30 inches long . Steel basket hilt with down pointing langets and a pommel spike. All very nicely engraved. newly made velvet covered scabbard. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. A classical 19C. exemplar.
