A sword of the Fang people residing in the borders area of Gabon and Cameroon. Weapons of the Fang are somewhat different and they are much sought after. This one is old, probably late19th Century. Collected by Dr. Yves Bellocq between 1922 and 1928. 13 inches double edge blade with a flat central rib and lightly engraved at its upper part . Hardwood, cross-shaped hilt with good age patina with wooden langets. No scabbard. Total length 20 inches. Very good condition. Minor wood chips. very reasonable price.
