Very Rare and Fine Kiem Vietnamese Straight Sword - 13922


This straight, double edge sword is Vietnamese, early 20 C. , also known as Kiem. Its narrow long well forged blade is 25 inches long with s shallow diamond cross section. The handle is composed of a grip made from the molar teeth of an elephant with very finely chased big silver pommel and cross guard. Lacquered wood scabbard set with decoration of mother of pearl mosaic and beautifully chased silver mounts. Total length 35 inches. Very good condition. Old age crack on the grip but it holds very solid. Small dent on the silver cross guard. A very impressive sword.
