This very fine Jambiya dagger is Yemenite, probably from the Tihama region in the west of Yemen, but similar styles can be found up to Mecca in the north and Hadramouth in the south Late 19 C or early 20 C. Blade 8 inches, curved and double edged, very well made with a pronounced central rib. Solid ivory handle with gold imitation coins and mounts (some gilded brass). Solid gilded silver scabbard pierced and decorated. Total length 12 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the scabbard gilding. Very fine item.
