Very Good Knife / Dagger from the Island of Crete 1896 - 13842

This is a very good example of the knife from the island of Crete in the Mediterranean. 8 1/2 inches single edge blade with a T shaped spine, typically engraved and dated to what looks as 1314 ( 1896 in the Gregorian calendar). The handle is made of black horn grips widening toward the pommel in a form of split ears. The bolster and grip strap are engraved silver . A small tweezers with ivory head is inserted at the pommel side of the grip. Wood scabbard covered with green dyed leather with the original spiral stitching. Total length in scabbard 14 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the scabbard leather. All parts original and in excellent shape. No replacements or restorations.
