Very Rare and Fine Turkish Set of Javelins - Jarid - 13824


Javelins (Short throwing spears) were used in the eastern world from Turkey to India. This pair of javelins, also known as Jarid is Turkish, 18 C. It includes two javelins with 8 1/2 inches blades square cross section and wood hafts 23 inches long ending with a chased silver cap. The Pair is housed in a wood scabbard with two compartments, covered with velvet and mounted with chased silver mounts. Total length 35 inches. Very good condition. One of the hafts as an age crack. Minor damages to the silver mounts. A very rare item, hardly seen on the market.
