This “PIHA KAHETTA”, is the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). This fine example is early 19 C. with a heavy fullered blade 9 inches long. Heavy highly decorative Brass bolsters. The grips are carved Ivory of good age color, with chased silver mounts and silver grip strap. Original scabbard with silver collar. Total length is 12 inches. Very good condition. very minor losses to the silver collars of the scabbard.
