Up for sale is this very good Saif sword from Ethiopia, early 20 C. Haile Selassie period. The blade is British made for K.T.C Ltd. 31 1/2 inches long, finely etched with floral pattern, Amharic inscription and with the “lion of Judea” emblem of the emperor. Two sectors rhino horn handle with a large silver Thaler coin (1780) on the pommel side. Total length 35 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade. Minor chips on the handle. No scabbard. A very impressive sword.
