This very good harpoon spear is of the Yakoma people, early – mid 20C . Very long 28 inches heavy barbed blade and finely twisted tang. Wood haft with a central swelled handle bound with steel and brass and copper strips strips. Steel tail. Total length 60 inches. Very good condition. Attached to the spear is an old label inscribed: BENIN Nigeria. Very nice spear of a better quality then the average African spears.
