Palestinian / Jordanian Bedouin Dagger Shibriya - 13679
A very good example of the Bedouin side dagger locally known as Shibriya. All men carry it and it is very popular between the Bedouin tribes residing in Israel and in Jordan. The blade is 5 1/2 inches, re-curving and double edged with an acute tip. The grip as well as the scabbard are covered with engraved and nielloed white metal. Total length 10 ½ inches. Good condition. Minor pitted spots on the blade. Minor losses to the niello design. Belt loop missing. Early 20C. nice exemplar. |
