A classical throwing knife of the Zande people (more specifically of the Nzakara, a subgroup of the Zande) residing in the area of North East Zaire, Central Africa Republic and Southern Sudan. Well forged steel. Braided fibers grip. Length 18 inches.. Very good condition For a very similar knife, see P. Westerdijk; The African Throwing Knife group VIII, type 6. This item is coming from the John woodman collection acquired in 1961 from a Florida Museum.
