Up for sale is this very fine 18 C. Kattar dagger. Massive fullered blade, 8 1/2 inches long, forged from Wootz steel. The handle is thoroughly and very richly decorated with gold inlay work with inscription in gold on the lower cross bar on both sides. Original scabbard covered with purple velvet and mounted with gold inlaid steel tip. The scabbard has a compartment with a small size knife also gold decorated and with ivory grips. Total length 17 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the velvet cover.
