Old Kattara Sword, Oman - 13488
Sword from Oman also known as Kattara. Very long 31 inches, straight and double edge fullered blade with a spatula shaped tip. Hilt is wood, covered with tooled leather. The pommel is a heavy square steel piece, used as a counter weight to the very well balanced long blade. The scabbard is wood, covered with tooled leather with steel bands and chape and brass hanging ring. Original remains of a red baldric carrying rope. Total length is 39 inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots on the blade. Minor edge nicks. Minor losses to the leather. |
