The Kastane is the national sword of Sri-Lanka. It is characterized by its short curved blade, and highly decorative hilt. Here we have a very good and somewhat different example with 19 inches curved blade of better quality that the common Kastane swords. Black horn hilt with monster head pommel and delicately chiseled brass cross guard and Quillons. Traces of brass inlay on the blade. Total length 25 inches. Very good condition. No scabbard. A very decorative piece.
