The biggest Fang sword ever - A sword of unusual size. The Fang people resides in the borders area of Gabon and Cameroon. Weapons of the Fang are somewhat different and they are quite rare and much sought after. This one is old and the biggest we have seen, probably late 19th Century, 32 inches long 4 inches wide, double edge blade with a flat central rib and lightly engraved at its upper part . Hardwood, cross-shaped hilt with wooden langets. No scabbard. Very good condition. To demonstrate the dimensions, it is shown below next to a “normal” size Fang sword.
