This unusual large size sword is coming most probably from the Manding people, West Africa, early 20C. Probably ceremonial but rare and unusual. Huge 34 inches long 2 1/4 inches wide blade, with a shallow wide fuller, engraved on its entire length. Massive ivory grip engraved and decorated with silver strips and twisted silver wires. Silver mounts. European style cross guard. Tooled leather scabbard. Total length 47 inches. Very good condition. Some losses to the leather scabbard. Carrying harness missing.
