This sword is usually referred to a Berber sword. Many suggestions has been given as to its origin: Spanish Morocco, Morocco, Algeria, Latin America and/or Other Spanish colonies. We are not sure ourselves as for the exact attribution of this sword but we prefer to post it in the Africa sector. We offer for sale a fine and complete exemplar, better than what we have seen before, complete with its original scabbard. The blade is a secondary use of a Spanish military saber with the tip reshaped. Blade length 24 inches. Horn handle with decorative brass inserts. original leather scabbard with up-rising tip. Total length 32 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade Minor loss to the scabbard leather at the back. Rare to find this sword with its original complete scabbard.
